The Gaming Project, a Cloud-gaming startup joins #SucSEEDFamily
The Gaming Project is engaged in the business of providing online gaming via its web platform. It is a cloud gaming service that lets its users run any game that they want to play, without having the hardware to support the game. It has raised Funds from Hyderabad-based SucSEED Indovation, FAAD Network, Upsparks, and BlackKite, among others. The round also saw participation from platforms like MaGEHold & Hem Angels.
The Gaming Project was assisted by A&W Capital, a boutique sports and gaming-focused investment bank, and Huddle, a sector-agnostic accelerator for early-stage start-ups.
Cloud gaming is a type of online gaming where the games are stored and installed on remote servers while audio/video data is streamed to the user’s device. The users can play the most popular AAA games on smartphones or PCs, without buying or renting expensive consoles like XBOX or PlayStation. The users just need to have a good internet connection. The Company aims to democratize access to premium games and allow gamers to play their favorite games anytime and anywhere.
It provides mutual benefits to publishers and gamers by creating gaming streams via the cloud offers multiple advantages to game developers and publishers. First, it minimizes investments in hardware. Second, gaming companies can also leverage the advantage of scalability by building games on the cloud — game developers and publishers can avail resources on-demand, avoiding costly up-front investments. Third, by bundling multiple games under one subscription and giving users unlimited access, gaming is now following the Netflix model, which benefits game publishers, stores, and players.
It is founded by Sarang Atri and Manan Mittal. Sarang Atri comes with 3 years of experience in technology and marketing. He previously founded a startup named Pyali. He previously worked with DRDO, Central electronic Ltd, Ornate Solar. Manan Mittal comes with 3+ years of experience as an Electrical engineer in Reliance-Jio’s 4G & AI dev team. He completed B.Tech

“Our entire goal up until our first raise was to make sure we spend as few resources as possible, but at the same time achieve a product-market fit that is appreciated by everyone in the gaming community and actually answer the question of whether cloud gaming is possible in India or not,” said Sarang Atri, Co-founder & Marketing Geek, The Gaming Project.
“Ever since the inception of our project, the inevitable question that always came up was whether the internet infrastructure was capable enough for this technology. Thankfully our customers answered that question for us, by sticking with us and providing their constructive feedback that in turn helped us improve our tech since our inception. Thanks to them and our investors, we will now be able to expand our services to all parts of India and across platforms as well,” said Manan Mittal, Co-founder & Tech Lead, The Gaming Company.
Speaking on why they have invested, Vineeta Gupta, VP-Investments, SucSEED Indovation Fund, said “With the adoption of cloud infrastructure and 5G roll out in India expected by end of 2022, Cloud Gaming is the next big thing in the making, which is expected to grow at 57% CAGR globally. We are excited about millennial gamers using The Gaming Project with on-demand games offering like Netflix for Games.”
